This desk is designed slightly lower than a typical 33" high office desk, to help posture while sitting. (The higher desk style forces most people to lift up their elbows and shoulders in a way shown to cause back and shoulder pain.)

The 3/4" poplar top is painted in non-toxic latex. The steel is left bare, to develop a natural patina.
